Continuum of Care: A History of WNY Human Service Agencies
The Museum’s newest exhibit, Continuum of Care: A History of WNY Human Service Agencies will be unveiled at Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day on May 24, 2012. The first installment of this exhibit will highlight the unique histories of some notable agencies in Niagara County including Family and Children’s Service of Niagara, The Sunshine League, and St. Mary’s on the Lake. What makes this exhibit unique from previous Museum of disABILITY History exhibits is that it is designed to accommodate the addition of other local human service agencies. Included with the exhibit will be information on how other WNY agencies can be included in future installments of the Continuum of Care exhibit. For more information about this exhibit, please contact the Museum at 716.629.3602.
St. Mary’s Home for Children, 6173 East Lake Road, Olcott. Sold to Le Couteulx St. Mary’s Benevolent Society for the Deaf and Dumb on July 19, 1929, and named St. Mary’s Home for Children.
