Celebrate the Holidays with Universal Mind at the Museum of disABILITY History
Celebrate the holiday season at the Museum of disABILITY History! Local band, Universal Mind, will perform holiday music on Thursday, December 5, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at 3826 Main Street in Buffalo. The event is free and open to the community to attend.
Sponsored by Aspire of Western New York, a local human service agency, Universal Mind is comprised of musicians who are all differently-abled. The group performs some of the greatest rock hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, as well as their own dynamic material.
Refreshments and tours of the Museum of disABILITY History will be available, along with a raffle. Additionally, the Museum Store will be open and a gift wrapping station will be available for items that have already been purchased. Attendees may bring in pre-purchased gifts and have them wrapped by volunteers for only $1.00 per gift (up to five gifts). Looking for that perfect gift? Look no further than the quaint Museum Store located inside the Museum of disABILITY History!

The Museum Store offers merchandise made by individuals of the Day Habilitation programs of People Inc. Individuals have created unique items such as silk scarves, cement garden turtles and hand painted wine glasses. Each item is lovingly hand-made and no two items are the same. Additionally, holiday cards are for sale with designs made by individuals served by People Inc.
Many items are now 50 percent off, including: Bamboo Cheese Boards, Braille jewelry, Nike golf balls, scented candles and apparel. Books from the Ivan the Invacar children’s series make a great gift for the kids on your shopping list! The Abandoned Asylums of New England coffee table book and 2014 calendar featuring photography by John Gray make great gifts for architecture and photography enthusiasts!
The store is open in conjunction with the Museum, Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
