Human Service Agencies Face Challenges
In recent years, People Inc. and other area non-profits serving individuals with developmental disabilities have monitored the nation’s fiscal challenges and New York state budget cuts that affect our agencies. At the forefront, changes from the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) will help shape program operations. New York State is embarking on a new way of providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities called the “People First 1115 Waiver,” which will bring significant programmatic, administrative and fiscal reforms.

Two recent articles in Buffalo Business First include information about these new initiatives. People Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer James M. Boles was interviewed.
