Governor's Staff Visits People Inc. Residence
Bonnie Kane Lockwood, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul’s Western New York regional director, recently toured a People Inc. location that is home to people with complex medical needs. She met with People Inc. President and CEO Anne McCaffrey, staff members and residents and learned about the exceptional lifesaving care the agency’s direct support professionals and nurses provide to people who use ventilators and are fed through G-tubes – and how this is accomplished in a comfortable and personalized environment instead of an ICU unit in a hospital or a nursing home. It was an opportunity to describe the support system necessary and the impact state funding can have on the lives of people we serve.
